How many times can I reschedule my F-1 Visa appointment?
Need to reschedule your visa appointments? Here’s everything you need to know.
If you’re applying for the F-1 Visa in India, you are required to schedule and attend a VAC or OFC (Biometrics) Appointment and a Consular (Interview) Appointment. Some applicants are eligible for Dropbox Appointments and can submit their visa application documents directly to a Visa Application Center (VAC), without appearing for a consular interview appointment.
Can I reschedule my F-1 Visa appointment?
The US Embassy or Consulate understands that you might not be able to attend your scheduled visa appointment(s), however, they restrict the number of times you can reschedule your appointment(s) to cater to the large visa applicant pool and protect the appointment scheduling system.
How many times can I reschedule my F-1 Visa appointment(s) in India?
Although the Embassy/Consulate or the USTravelDocs - India website does not specify the exact number of times you are allowed to reschedule your F-1 Visa appointment(s), you are allowed to change or reschedule your visa appointment(s) 4 times after you have secured your first visa appointment(s).

How can I confirm my new appointment and that my previous appointment(s) is canceled?
Simply log into your CGI Federal account and click on the ‘Reschedule Appointment’ tab in the top left corner of your dashboard. If you are able to find a new appointment(s), you will get a confirmation message that reads ‘Your Appointment has been rescheduled’.
You can check your visa appointment scheduling history by logging into your CGI Federal account and clicking on the ‘Appointment History’ tab in the top left corner of your dashboard. For each of your previous and the current appointment(s), you will be able to view the Appointment Date, Applicant Name, Consulate Location (‘Post’), Visa type (or category), and the current Status.
